Reliance Industries Limited to conduct AGM virtually
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) will conduct its 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually on Wednesday (July 15) at 2 pm amid the coronavirus pandemic and about 100,000 shareholders from almost 500 locations in India and overseas are expected to be participated.
The meeting will be hosted by Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of RIL. Mr. Mukesh Ambani has now become the sixth richest person in the world. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his net worth is USD 72.4 billion.
The annual general meeting will be a virtual where shareholders will be able to watch the meeting, ask questions to the chairman and vote all aided by technology, in line with RIL’s current focus.
RIL stated, “The pandemic is a blessing in disguise for shareholders outside Mumbai, who thus far could never attend this most sought-after annual event of corporate India. They will now simply log into the event live, can listen to the plans and initiatives and comment and participate too,” on Tuesday (July 14).
The AGM will be powered by platforms and capabilities that include Cisco Webex, Jio Meet platform, video conferencing and commercial webcast where shareholders from India, the UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, the USA, Japan, Singapore, Canada and the UAE will also join the meeting.
All shareholder speakers, directors and key officials will be audible and visible, moreover, all of shareholders will also be able to post their queries and eVote on resolutions as well.
